DROITWICH Spa Farmers’ Market is planning on growing in size over the next few months in a bid to offer some added attractions.

The market, which has been operating in the town every month for the past 15 years, already offers a range of locally produced food and drink, including meat, fruit and vegetables, cakes, cheeses, jams and cider.

Although the market has proven popular with a core of customers, the stall holders are hoping to attract even more people, as well as offering other local groups and businesses the chance to have their own stalls and get some exposure.

Representatives from the market, have been working together with the Droitwich Spa business partnership manager for Wychavon District Council, Janet Yates, to create a number of different themes for the market, with a Boffy Arts Market planned for June, and a community market in October, which will feature local community groups and charities, as well as local crafts and representatives from the Norbury Theatre.

There is also a youth market planned before the end of the year.

Craig Thornton from Worcestershire Farmers’ Market Group, said: “We think this a great new initiative which will hopefully be an added attraction for the town, as well as helping the local community and businesses. We can provide the market stalls and would be happy to hear from local community groups, schools and the like who might be interested in taking part. Customers can be assured that we will still have our usual range of food and drink stalls, but obviously some new ones to add interest to their visit.”
