EVERYONE likes to feel as if they’ve found the perfect item on a shopping trip, but for one shopper, a trip to Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold proved truly unique when she discovered a personalized proposal of marriage inside a display of jewellery.

Cheryl Tindale a council employee from Stourbridge, was surprised by her boyfriend Jason Coe during a visit to her favourite shop, after he arranged the proposal with staff, setting up a diamond and white gold ring in the display, with a tag saying ‘will you marry me Cheryl Tindale.’

Mr Coe, a service engineer from Telford, had already purchased the ring in Switzerland during a holiday the couple had been on.

He said: “We went snow boarding in France in February and had a great time. We stopped off in Geneva for our flight and we were looking around the shops when I saw this ring that just matched Cheryl's great personality and spark. So I said go on try it on, it fitted and I said one day maybe? I went back and got it as it matches the sensible side and the get up and go, try anything, side to Cheryl and is also very beautiful.”

He added: “Cheryl shops at Webbs and is always telling me it's her favourite store in the world so I couldn’t think of anywhere more suitable to ask her to marry me. Sometimes you meet that person who you know you want to spend the rest of your life with and for me Cheryl is that girl. I'm a very fortunate man.

“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved at Webbs who made this such a special day for us both - words cannot praise them all enough.”

Miss Tindale accepted the proposal, and Webbs staff treated the couple to a champagne lunch in the garden centre restaurant.

Webbs chairman Ed Webb, said: “We were only too delighted to help Jason with such a unique wedding proposal. We wish them both the very best for their life together and hope to welcome them back to Webbs soon.”
