DODDERHILL School recently welcomed 250 girls from schools all over the Midlands, for the annual Girls’ Schools Association Choral Day.

Pupils aged between seven and nine years old came to the Droitwich school from schools as far away as Derby and Leicester to learn and perform four songs for the day.

Dodderhill’s head of music Caroline Vinson led the day, teaching everybody how to sing ‘My Dog’, ‘The Orchestra Song’, ‘Down in the Jungle’, and a song she had written especially for the day called ‘Listen’ complete with harmonies in five parts.

She said: “The choral day was a great success. To see so many girls all mixing, collaborating, singing together and generally having a wonderful day doing what they love was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed themselves, staff and pupils alike and the singing was beautiful, we’re very proud of all of the girls that took part.”
