DROITWICH Spa residents are being reminded to make sure they’re registered to vote before the elections on May 7.

People over 18 , who are living in Droitwich will be able to vote for the district, town or parish councillors, as well as having the chance to register as a candidate in the elections, and Wychavon District Council is trying to make sure that everyone who is eligible to vote, has the chance, by sending out reminders to every household in the district.

Potential voters will have the chance to add their name to the register, or change their information, but they only have a short amount of time before May’s election, which will also see the country vote for a new Government.

Elaine Dicks, electoral services manager at Wychavon District Council, said: “Anyone not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible in order for them to be able to have their say on issues that affect their lives by voting on 7th May.

“With the introduction of online registration it is now easier than ever to make sure you are registered in time.”

Residents can register or change their information on the electoral register by visiting gov.uk/register-to-vote. Alternatively, they can call the registration office on 01386 565437 or write to elections@wychavon.gov.uk for advice or to request paper forms to fill out.

People who know they will be away from home on May 7 for the election will also be able to register through the registration office for a postal vote.
