LOCAL ‘twitchers’ are being invited to put their bird-friendly skills to the test to design the perfect bird box.
The branch of Wilko in Salter Shopping Centre in Droitwich Spa is calling on people to enter a competition to design a fun bird box, as part of its ‘Wild Bird’ campaign.
People can create their own multi-storey bird palaces, or the perfect state of the art avian mansion for their feathered friends.
Sarah Kerlew, store manager at Wilko in Droitwich, said: “Our ‘Wild Bird’ campaign is all about getting people from across the community to start thinking more about their surrounding wildlife and what they can do to care for it during the chilly, winter months. When it’s cold, it’s more important than ever to provide shelter for our feathered friends, along with leaving out nutritious, high-fat bird food and fresh water.
“We’re looking for fun, different and creative bird box designs that will really stand out from the crowd. The winning entrant will be rewarded with a whole host of goodies from our wildlife and garden range, all of which will be perfect for helping both amateurs and enthusiasts spot plenty of wild birds, in their natural habitat.”
Entries must be submitted on A4 paper by Friday, February 20 and can be sent to wildbird@tangerinepr.com or dropped into the Droitwich store.
