DON’T forget to make the most of a chance to showcase local talent this evening with an open audition for the W Factor in Droitwich.

Young people between the ages of 11 and 18 years old are invited to get upon stage and show off their skills in everything from visual art, and short films, to music, singing, dance, drama, and even circus skills.

A winner will be chosen from each category in a spectacular final, being held on Monday, March 9 Number 8 Community Arts Centre in Pershore.

The successful acts will then receive assistance on further training and may be invited to perform at future events organised by Wychavon District Council during any of the busy summer festivals.

Jenny Davis, arts development officer for Wychavon, said: “I’m looking forward once again to seeing what talented young people come forward for the W-Factor. There are always some surprises and interesting acts that bring an edge to the final show. It’s always satisfying to see the young people grow in confidence from when we see them at the audition stage, right through to the final show and the events in the summer.”

To take part in the audition, which is being held tonight from 5.30pm at Droitwich High School, fill out an application form at wychavon.gov.uk/communitydevelopment.

Tickets for the final are £5 and can be purchased from the Number 8 box office on 01386 555488.
