WORCESTER Jazz Orchestra is kicking off its 2015 season with a concert in Droitwich.
The orchestra is celebrating the music from the UK and the US which songs made famous by Britain’s Ted Heath and His Music band, and America’s Stan Kenton Orchestra.
The show, which is taking place at the Droitwich Legion Inn on Salwarpe Road, has been organised to commemorate an transatlantic exchange visit which was held in 1956 involving both bands, after a ban was lifted in 1955 by the American and British Musicians Union, on visits by foreign musicians.
The concert is taking place on Friday, February 6 from 8pm. Tickets are £6 on the door. For more information, contact Geoff Walker from Worcester Jazz Orchestra on 07970 662692.
