TALENTED young people in and around Droitwich Spa could find their talents in the spotlight in the new year, with the return of the W-Factor.

The talent competition, which is run by Wychavon District Council, is inviting anyone from 11-18 years old to enter in one of seven creative categories including visual art, short film, music, singing, dance, drama, and circus skills.

Auditions are being held across the district throughout January with an audition at Droitwich Spa High School from 5.30pm on Wednesday, January 21.

The final of the competition will take place on Monday, March 9 from 7.30pm at the Number 8 community Arts Centre in Pershore.

Jenny Davis, arts development officer for Wychavon District Council, said: “I’m looking forward once again to seeing what talented young people come forward for the W Factor. There are always some surprises and interesting acts that bring an edge to the final show. It’s always satisfying to see the young people grow in confidence from when we see them at the audition stage, right through to the final show and the events in the summer.”

Successful W Factor acts will also receive assistance on further training, and will be invited to perform at future Wychavon events, especially during the busy summer festivals.

To enter the competition, people must be aged between 11 and 18 years old on March 9, 2015.
