COME out and see Santa’s sleigh in the build up to Christmas as it tours neighbourhoods around Droitwich.
The Christmas sleigh, which was originally inherited from the Droitwich round Table, is now shared out between Droitwich Rotary Club and Droitwich Lions.
It will be travelling along 23 routes around the town in the lead up to Christmas with volunteers from the Rotary Club, and from the Droitwich Lions, operating it on alternate nights visiting main roads and all the smaller streets off them, as long as the weather is suitable.
This year the Droitwich Lions are dividing all the money collected on their nights between local children’s charities, while the Rotary Club are splitting the money they collect between four charities, Brain Tumour Research, Worcester Breast Unit, Young Carers, and research into Myelin repair, which is helping people with MS, and Alzheimer’s and Dementia sufferers.
Santa’s Sleigh will be heading out most night from Monday, December 1 to Tuesday, December 23 between 5pm and 8.30pm.
For a full list of the intended routes, which are subject to change in the case of bad weather or a shortage of volunteers, visit droitwichsparotary.org.uk. You can also find out more about the Droitwich Lions Club at droitwichlions.co.uk.
