THIS year, anyone stuck for Christmas gift ideas might be interested to hear that Droitwich Town Council has published its own charity calendar, showing picturesque images of local Droitwich scenes.

The 2015 calendar is raising money for Mayor Bob Brookes’ two chosen charities for the year, Age Concern UK Droitwich branch, and Droitwich Boys and Girls Football Club.

Councillor Brookes said: “We always use this type of calendar at home to note appointments and events, and there are always enquiries at the town's Tourist Information Centre for gifts and souvenirs featuring photos of Droitwich. The whole project was the brainchild of my wife Veronica and she has received marvellous support from local businesses.”

The Droitwich Arts Network (DAN) got involved with the calendar project early on and offered help with the technical side of its production, and it features images from DAN member, photographer Rhys Jones, as well as Amy Merryweather and Nikita Henessey form Droitwich Spa High School, and even a few taken by the mayor himself.

The calendar is priced at £5, and is on sale from the Tourist Information Centre in Victoria Square, opposite the library, and from Witton Post Office on the corner of Tagwell Road and Worcester Road.
