DROITWICH Tennis Club has been voted as the best club in two counties at the recent Hereford and Worcester Local Tennis Association’s awards evening.

The club, which has been running for a number of years, has a growing membership and a lively junior section which trains more than 130 keen youngsters from four to 18 years old to play the game.

The award for ‘Club of the Year’ was presented by Hereford and Worcester LTA president Ian King, who praised the club’s investment in new courts, and its use of social media to keep members up to date with news, as well as forging links with local school in Droitwich to encourage children to learn tennis.

Neil Bates, chairman of Droitwich Tennis Club, said: “It has been a fantastic year at the club and this award means a lot to all of those individuals who have worked hard to help make it a really enjoyable and friendly place to play tennis.”
