WITH Remembrance Day approaching people in Droitwich are being reminded that there’s still an opportunity to buy copies of a book of First World War themed poetry, written by the town’s school children.

The book is being sold to raise money for the Droitwich Poppy Appeal and includes contribution from pupils at Chawson First School, Witton Middle School, Westacre Middle School and Droitwich High School.

Steven Moore, branch chairman of the Droitwich branch of the Royal British Legion, said: “I am very proud of our First World War commemorative poetry book and the great contributions and support of many of our local schools.”

Many of the poems are currently on display on the first floor of Droitwich Library, and copies of the book can be purchased from the Tourist Information Centre in St Richard’s House.

Any other town businesses or groups which think they might be able to stock copies of the book to sell, should contact Councillor Richard Morris by writing to richmoz@hotmail.com.
