PEOPLE in Droitwich will have the chance to meet their local district councillor next month with a number of surgeries and patch visits taking place around the area.

On November 12 Councillor Glenise Noyes is holding a surgery for residents in the Droitwich Central ward at the Doverdale Arms on Stalls Farm Road in Droitwich from 12-1pm. She will also be dropping in on a number of businesses on the North Street Industrial Estate beforehand from 10am to noon, and from 2-4pm.

For residents in the Droitwich South West ward, Councillors Tom Noyes and Graham Beale will be holding a surgery outside the newly-opened Witton Post Office from 10-11am, before moving on to visit a number of local businesses.

Tracy Perkins, partnership support officer at Wychavon District Council, said: “Since June 2014, our Meet your Council events have taken place in 12 wards. Many of them took place at summer events including community games, fetes, a flower show and a music festival.

“A broad range of issues were raised by residents and businesses including highways issues – problems with specific roads and pavements and overgrown hedges, concern about new developments, slow and intermittent broadband, businesses rates and empty shops. Generally people like living in Wychavon and they mentioned community spirit, local events, the parks and our approach to supporting businesses as things they value.”

“At these upcoming events we have a number of open surgeries where people can come along without the need to make an appointment and chat to their councillor and our officers, so we hope that anyone with anything to say will take the opportunity to come and meet us.”

Residents are encouraged to come along and chat to their councillors as part of the events.
