A NUTRITIOUS diet is the key to success for any sports player.
H.Dayus Butchers in St John's took this in to account when creating a special sausage for the Worcester Wolves basketball team.
Craig Saunders, the proprietor of H.Dayus said Mick Donovan, co-founder of the Wolves, approached the butchers to ask them to create the special sausage, made up of pork, cheese and Worcester Sauce.
"Mick is a fan of our sausages and he asked if we could make a sausage that links to the Wolves. We went through ideas with him and came up with the pork, cheese and Worcester Sauce sausage, which is nice because it also links to Worcester in its name," Mr Saunders said.
"We did a few taster sessions down at the matches and the sausages went down brilliantly. The team loved them and so did the fans, and the regular customers in the shop really liked them too. We make up special sausages on occasion for local hotels or restaurants, but we've never done anything like this before. We're obviously very proud to do this though and be involved with the Wolves in this way."
