DOG lovers in Droitwich and the surrounding area are being asked to help a furry friend in need of a good home.

Jackie the eight-year-old Rottweiler, has been living in a foster home just outside the town for a couple of months, but now she’s ready to move on to a permanent home.

The Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire branch of the RSPCA has been looking after Jackie since she came to them a little while ago.

Geraldine Haynes, volunteer dog rehoming coordinator for the branch, said: “Jackie came to us very badly neglected with hardly any fur on her back, because the woman who owned her never got her any vet treatment for years. It started just because the woman didn't deflea her and you can see how she ended up with no treatment.

“Poor Jackie had been badly neglected by her original owner, but has fully recovered thanks to lots of TLC from her foster mum and veterinary treatment. She is such a good girl and would be a loving companion. She loves everyone, very affectionate and friendly.”

Jackie is fully vaccinated and microchipped, and walks well on the lead.

Anyone who thinks they might be able to offer her a loving home, is asked to contact the RSPCA on 01886 822083.
