STAR of BBC’s Springwatch, Autumnwatch, Gardener’s World and Midlands Today, Kate MacRae, will be appearing as the guest speaker at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust’s annual general meeting.

Ms MacRae, who is known as Wildlife Kate on the BBC, is a trained teacher, and has acted as the educational consultant for Simon King’s Wildlife Whisperer website, as well as running her own successful garden wildlife blog.

She said: “I’m really looking forward to visiting Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and encouraging people to take even more notice of the wonderful wildlife that visits our gardens.

“I’ll show some of the footage that I’ve captured both in my garden and in my local area. I’ll bring lots of kit with me and demonstrate just how easy it is to set up a camera nest box or to use a trail cam; there’ll be an opportunity to take a closer look at it, get inspired and start thinking about what you could do in your patch.”

Wendy Carter, the Trust’s communications manager, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming Kate to the Trust.

“There’s no doubt that we all love watching wildlife in our gardens, whether it’s the birds at our bird feeders or bees feasting on our buddleias. Kate has taken garden wildlife-watching to a whole new level, installing over 20 cameras in her garden to watch everything from nesting blue tits to feeding foxes.

“I’m sure it will be an absolutely fascinating talk that we can all learn a lot from.”

The talk will the follow the main AGM at 8.30pm at Lower Smite Farm, between Worcester and Droitwich, and anyone is welcome to attend. For more information visit worcswildlifetrust.co.uk.
