CLIENTS at Westmead Day Care Centre in Droitwich got a special treat this week with a visit from some furry friends courtesy of a local minifarm.

An indoor animal road show paid a visit to the centre from Gloverspiece Minifarm with everything from giant rabbits and chinchillas to guinea pigs, sheep, and a chicken and duck.

Jacqui Brown, who manages the centre, said: “Our clients absolutely loved the visit – to see the smiles on their faces as they held these gorgeous creatures was just wonderful to watch and we would definitely welcome them back again.”

76-year-old Cathy Eva has been coming to the centre for the past five years, and loved the giant rabbits.

She said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the visit - it was very relaxing and so nice to have contact with the animals.”

Client Frank Simmonds got to hold a chinchilla. He added: “It was absolutely smashing and I would love to have taken one of the animals home.”

The centre, which is based next to Westmead Care Home in Droitwich, runs morning and afternoon sessions where people can make friends and take up a new hobby.
