THE final graduation ceremony held by Worcester College of Technology has taken place.

Following the college's merger with North East Worcestershire College, it is now known as Heart of Worcestershire College.

A final cohort of 140 students marched through the city centre alongside dignitaries to mark the final graduation under the technology college moniker.

The parade saw the column walk from Guildhall to the cathedral today (Friday, September 12).

Councillor Alan Amos, the mayor of Worcester, was one of the figureheads leading the procession.

Anne Daniel, the college's head of marketing, said: "The college is proud to play an integral part in the social and economic fabric of the City of Worcester.

"Today’s celebrations illustrate the continued investment in higher education provision.

"It also marks a very special point in the history of the college, being the last graduation ceremony to be held under the name Worcester College of Technology.

"[Heart of Worcestershire College] will continue to provide the city, and indeed the county, with high quality education and training."
