A CLASSIC charity motor cycle scramble is returning to Hanbury this week with bikes on show from the 1950s and 1970s.
The scramble, at Middle Hill, Park Farm, will feature races for solo and sidecars, with several stars and work riders from the sport’s 1960s heyday entering.
BSA, Matchless, Cheney and Rickman bikes will be there for people wanting a nostalgia hit, as well as European Bultaco, Husqvarna, and CZ bikes.
The farm has a race track which was used extensively in the 1960s where bikes will be racing, with easy access for spectators, and there will be an award given out in honour of two times world champion Jeff Smith, as well as the newly introduced ‘Thumper’ class, with additional awards for the most original and best prepared bikes.
The scramble is taking place on Sunday, September 15 from 9.30am with races starting from 11am. There will also be a beer tent and refreshments on offer.
Entry is £5 for adults and free for children, with proceeds going toward local Hanbury and church charities.
