CHILDREN in Bromsgrove and Droitwich aged 0 to 19 years old are set to benefit from an interactive online guidebook full of advice for improving children’s outcomes.

The guidebook has been produced by the Early Intervention Foundation (EIF) as part of Worcestershire’s Early Help programme, which works with families and children to attempt to tackle problems before they become serious.

People will be able to find information on the 50 programmes that are currently successfully up and running to help families in Worcestershire.

Professor Leon Feinstein, head of evidence at the EIF, said: “We are delighted to launch this guidebook which will be a step towards improving the quality and effectiveness of early intervention across the country.

"Early intervention is about ensuring children and young people are ready and able to lead happy and healthy adult lives. The guidebook includes programmes and also advice on how to use this information.

"We aim to improve knowledge about what works and what doesn’t, and also to improve the use of this information, so communicating it in an accessible and clear way is essential. Together with our advice work and work with 20 places, this guidebook can help in transforming practice across the country, supporting us to ensure children have a better chance to fulfill their potential.”

Cllr Liz Eyre, Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member for children and families, added: "This tool is a good step for improving early help services for children and families. It's great for us to be able to share our good practice as well as learn from other authorities about what works well to ensure children and families in Worcestershire get the help they need to nip their problems in the bud."
