BUDDING stage performers in Droitwich will be able to hone their theatre skills with a new acting and musical theatre school opening in the town.

Starbuck Theatre company, which is launching in September, is aiming to give young people training as part of a company.

Sarah Starbuck, who is running the company, said: “It's giving them the skills they need in Acting and Musical Theatre whilst teaching them the discipline of the subjects and skills such as dedication and commitment, as well as helping with building confidence and will be a place young people can feel supported and part of a family with a common cause of wanting to be the best and put on the best shows possible.”

The students will also receive visits and masterclasses from industry professionals including singers, musicians and actors throughout the year.

Ms Starbuck added: “It's not just for those that want to be professional actors, anyone who loves acting or musical theatre and has an enthusiasm will be welcome. There will be limited places due to the fact I am making the classes a company who can grow together.”

Starbuck Theatre Company is holding a free taster workshop in acting and musical theatre at Droitwich Spa High School on Thursday, August 28 from 3-4.30pm with limited places available. To book a place, call 07711 230317 or write to starbucktheatrecompany@gmail.com.
