COMMUNITY minded people in Droitwich are being asked to put themselves forward for the Wychavon District Council audit committee.

The committee meets approximately six times a year, and holds responsibility for internal control at the council, as well as risk management and financial reporting, to check if that everything possible is being done to make sure the council is being efficient and giving value for money, making recommendations as appropriate.

Vic Allison, deputy managing director at the council, said: “This is an exciting and rare opportunity for the right individual. We are looking for someone with a connection to the area of Wychavon and who has relevant financial or audit experience.”

For more information on the role, write to Mr Allison at vic.allison@wychavon.gov.uk or call 01386 565586. The deadline for applications is Friday, August 8.
