A DROITWICH hospital chef is having one of her recipes featured in a healthy eating cookery book which is raising money for charity.

Alena Bartlett who works as a chef at BMI Droitwich Spa Hospital has given her recipe for Prosciutto Chicken with Edam Cheese and Warm Salad, to be used in the book.

The book is being used to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, ad will be on sale at the hospital and 50 Cancer Research UK shops throughout the country for £3.

The recipe book features recipes from 33 BMI Hospital chefs across the UK, in an effort to encourage people to make healthy changes to their lifestyles with one of five pledges to either improve their diet, move more, drink less alcohol, be health aware, or quit smoking.

Ms Bartlett said: “We wanted to show that healthy eating didn’t have to mean boring meals and ‘same old’ salads. Food doesn’t have to be full of salt, sugar or fat in order to be tasty.

“We use fresh and healthy ingredients in recipes that are quick and easy to prepare. The idea is to demonstrate that changing your diet doesn’t have to be difficult and it certainly doesn’t mean your tastebuds have to suffer.”
