YOUNGSTERS from across the broader West Midlands area were presented with awards from the Droitwich Spa Rotary Club recently for design and innovation skills.
The awards were decided on a regional level at Bromsgrove School with 21 finalists from across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcester, Warwickshire and the West Midlands competing.
Decisions were made by three judges from the Droitwich Rotary Club, immediate past president Roger Harris, president Helen Karakashian, and secretary Sandy Laird.
First prize went to Becky Randle form King Edward VI Five Ways School for a multi task desk, designed for children with autism.
Mrs Karakashian said: “The 21 finalists covered a wide range of innovative designs showing a high standard of well researched projects. With talented young people like these the future of innovation, design and development in our country is very promising indeed.”
