DROITWICH Spa welcomed 37 German guests recently as part of a visit from its twin town of Bad Ems in Germany.

The visit was organised by the Droitwich Spa – German Twinning Group, and it was the 31st time the two towns had come together for a visit.

Visitors enjoyed a welcoming ceremony at Droitwich Spa’s Cricket Club with a traditional afternoon tea, before watching a concert at the Sacred Heart Church, and then taking a look around the Food and Drink Festival.

The group took a trip to Hidcote Manor to look around the gardens, and finally met at the Chateau Impney Hotel for a farewell meal.

Rob Jacobs chairman of the Droitwich Spa – German Twinning Group, said: “It was nice to have a sunny weekend which helped things go well. I’d like to thank all of the committee who worked so hard in making everything go so smoothly.”
