WITH the date set for Friday, July 4, staff, pupils and volunteers at Wychbold First and Nursery School are planning an American Independence Day theme for their PTA Summer Fayre.

The event kicks off at 3.30pm with a soccer shoot-out, craft activities, face painting and a bouncy castle.

Prizes will be up for grabs at the tombola, lucky dip, jazzy jar, Pringle shy and hook-a-duck games, while more traditional stalls will be selling cakes, plants, sweets and second hand baooks.

There will also be US-style hot dogs on sale, and a grand raffle with a host of prizes on offer including passes to local attractions, meals out, and a summer hamper stuffed with goodies.

PTA member Rachel Kiernan, said: “The summer fayre is the biggest event of our fundraising year. It’s always lots of fun and enjoyed by pupils, parents and the local community alike. We hope as many people as possible mosey on down on July 4 to help us raise lots of money whilst having a rip roaring time.”

Entry to the Fayre is 50p for adults and free for children. Money raised will go towards funding additional equipment and opportunities at the school. Last year’s funds were used to help purchase iPads, musical instruments, and school trips for the pupils.
