WESTMEAD Residential Care Home in Droitwich took a step back in time recently for a vintage 1950s garden party.
Staff and residents got dressed up in their finery and threw the doors open to the home as part of National Car Home Open Day, inviting people in in a bid to forge links with the local community.
The vintage garden party and tea dance saw people enjoying traditional ballroom and tango dancing with an instructor from Movement and Motivation before the home’s new summer house was officially unveiled.
Entertainment was also provided by Strictly Entertainment, which performed music from the 1950s, while residents and visitors enjoyed cream teas and refreshments.
Home manager Sue Stokes said: “We had an absolutely magical day filled with lots of laughter – our residents loved welcoming people from the local community into our home and making some new friends.”
