A BUILDING which has operated as a vehicle repair workshop in Droitwich since the early 1920s is set to be demolished to make way for a new petrol station with a Marks and Spencer retail outlet.
The garage had operated as Paul Newbury Lt until 2000 when Mr Newbury retired and the staff bought up the business and continued to trade as Newbury Motors.
However the building’s owner has now sold the site to BP for its new garage.
Newbury Motors managing director Jerry Munslow, said: "It’s a sad day for all our local customers but as of June 16 we will be still trading and offering our high standard of work as usual at Witton Motors which will be renamed Newbury Motors."
