AN amateur dramatic society is appealing for an unusual and eye-catching prop to help their next production run smoothly.

The Norbury Players are staging Me and My Girl at the Norbury Theatre, Friar Street, Droitwich, and they are calling for a suit of armour to feature on stage as Bill Snibson, a Lambeth Costermonger, is revealed to be the new Earl of Hareford.

Me and My Girl runs from Thursday to Saturday, July 10-12 and from Thursday to Saturday, July 17-19, while the suit of armour is required by Saturday, June 21.

Director Jonathan Southall said: "The suit of armour is required for our forthcoming production of Me and My Girl. It stands in the corner of the stage to dress the set as the characters in the story talk about it.

"It will just have to be able to stand up or if someone has a suit of armour we have a shop mannequin that we can put it onto if it cannot stand."

Snibson's newly-discovered relations are horrified by the revelation and comical chaos ensues during attempts to educate him in the ways of the gentry.

Expect witty one liners, hilarious characters and toe-tapping songs such as the Lambeth Walk, the Sun Has Got His Hat On and Leaning on a Lampost.

Daily performances will be held at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm matinee on both Saturdays and tickets range from £10 to £12.
