POLICE have linked three burglaries which took place over two days in Droitwich resulting in the theft of thousands of pounds worth of items.

A burglary on Tuesday, April 22 has been linked to two further burglaries and one attempted burglary on Wednesday, April 23 in the town.

The first incident occurred between 10am and 6pm on Tuesday in the Ladywood area to the south west of Droitwich at a detached house in its own grounds.

Offenders forced French doors at the property before taking 800 cigarettes, 50 cigars, 100 Caribbean dollars two Pentax cameras 12 pairs of cufflinks and a pair of iron steps. Altogether the items have been valued at £1,335.

The second incident occurred the following day at a property in Bays Meadow, just off Roman Way, at some point from 3.10-6pm. Offenders forced their ways in through the back door. Smashing the glass and taking a white iPod with a purple cover, a Kindle Fire and jewellery totalling £1,630.

The same day, also in Bays Meadow, a third house was targeted at some point from 3-6pm, when offenders forced their way through the back door, taking money from a safe, along with an HTC Desire mobile phone, a white watch, a bracelet and a small safe and cash box, totalling £2,345.

Between 2.30pm and 5.30pm on the same day, a further attempt was made to break into a property in nearby Crutch Lane. Somebody smashed a rear window, but failed to gain access, then smashed another window, setting off the burglar alarm at the property, and abandoned their attempts.
