THE details of the funeral of Denise Inge, the wife of the Bishop of Worcester, have been announced.
Mrs Inge died on Easter Sunday following a battle with cancer.
All are welcome to attend the funeral, which will be held in Worcester Cathedral on Tuesday, May 6 at 2pm.
Bishop John said: “Thank you for all the love, support and prayers that we have received during Denise’s illness and since she died. Through bitter grief at her loss, we rejoice that she was taken to the Lord on Easter Day after what seemed like a very long Lent, lasting a year.
"I’m constantly reminded of what Denise said at a prayer meeting shortly after she was diagnosed: ‘Whatever happens, Alleluia is our song’.”
He has asked for no floral tributes but donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Berega Hospital in Morogoro, Tanzania.
There will also be a private burial service in Bredwardine, Herefordshire on Wednesday, May 7.
