First published in News

DROITWICH Arts Network will be out and about during the St Richard’s Festival celebrations next weekend with different activities on offer for townsfolk.

At 10.30am on Saturday, May 3, the network will be revealing the town mural at Netherwich canal basin, which has been designed by students from Droitwich Spa High School and painted by volunteers from all over the area.

The mural will be unveiled by Councillor Tom Noyes, mayor of Droitwich in Vine Park, and will be in place until the end of September.

From Saturday, May 3 to Monday, May 5 there will also be an exhibition of crafts, paintings, photography and poetry produced by members of local art clubs and individual artists in St Andrew’s Church.

St Richard’s Hospice is celebrating 30 years in operation, with 30 works of art and craft created by local artists, which are being displayed in Droitwich shops and other venues.

Snowdrops, which form the main part of the hospice logo, are being incorporated into many of the displays.

Finally on Monday, may 5 from 10am to 12.20pm the network is organising children’s arts workshops, which will include painting, sculpture, singing and storytelling, culminating with a performance by the children at noon.
