LOCAL butchers, shops, pubs and restaurants in and around Droitwich are being challenged to come up with the town’s best sausage, as part of the Droitwich Food Festival taking place this June.

The Best Sausage competition is open to any business selling sausage in or within a five mile radius of Droitwich, or running an exhibit during the festival.

The competitors don’t need to give up their secret recipes, but they will need to describe the main ingredients of their sausage, which must consist of pork, beef, lamb or venison as their key ingredient.

The sausages will be judged as part of the food festival, before and after cooking, by a panel of qualified food judges, and the winner will be announced on Saturday, June 21.

There’s no entry fee and entry forms can be downloaded from droitwichspafestival.co.uk/best-sausage-competition/.
