POLICE are investigating a break-in at an industrial estate in Droitwich after 70 tyres, worth a total of £6,000 were stolen.

The incident occurred overnight at some point between 5.45pm on Tuesday, March 6, and 8.50am on Wednesday, March 7 at Autotyre in the North Street Industrial Estate in Droitwich, close to the railway station.

Burglars attempted to break into the unit via a door, splitting the frame and causing some damage, before eventually accessing the building through a skylight covered with perspex sheeting, causing £50 worth of damage before making off with the tyres.

Police officers are looking through CCTV footage of the area, and have conducted house to house enquiries at nearby flats on Ombersley Close, but anyone who believes they may have witnessed suspicious activity in the at the time, or noticed anyone storing a large number of tyres since, should contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident no. 106s070314.
