DROITWICH funeral directors Bryan and Catherine Powell are holding a special event on Saturday, March 29, for people who have lost their mothers and might find the weekend difficult as a result.
The funeral firm will holding a short service at its home in North Street, Droitwich to offer a moment of reflection for people, and quiet celebration of happy memories in the company of others who will understand what it’s like to lose a mother, grandmother or child, and how much they might be dreading the weekend.
Mr Powell’s father, the Rev Bob Powell lost his own mother last year, and he will be leading the service.
Mrs Powell said: “We have been really touched by the response from other local companies who’ve heard about the idea and want to make a difference too, so we’ll have delicious refreshments from “Everything Stops for Tea”, a floral gift from Petals and emotional support from Jan Jones, bereavement coach.”
The service will take place from 3pm on Saturday, March 29 at the Powell & Family funeral home in Droitwich, and anyone is welcome to attend.
