THE health and safety manager for developers McCarthy & Stone, has been given a prestigious housing award for his work on a Droitwich development.
Mark Hewitt, who works for the firm, is being recognised by the Building Safety Group for his work at the Horton Mill Court site in Droitwich by being named Site Manager of the Year.
He said: “I was delighted to receive this award and it’s been a real testament to the hard working team I have around me who have made a personal difference to make this site the success it has been to date. The prize giving was a real honour and it was great that our work was recognised within the industry.”
When completed, the retirement development on Hanbury Road will consist of 61 apartments with on-site staff.
Tim Lightfoot, construction director for the company, added: “It is fantastic to see Mark’s hard work rewarded. He is a real asset to McCarthy & Stone and goes above and beyond on a daily basis to ensure work on the site runs as smoothly as possible while always adhering to a consistently high level of safety legislation.”
