A DROITWICH CEO has been appointed to a top role in a leading professional body for his industry.

Paul Massey, CEO of Droitwich-based AKW, which sells bathroom appliances to help people stay independent in thier own homes for longer, has been named as the new chairman to the management committee for the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE).

Mr Massey was previously the president of another industry body, the Society of British Gas Industries (SBGI) and chairman of the Heating and Hotwater Industry Council.

He said: “I am delighted with the appointment, helping to develop open and frank discussions on the issues and policies that affect those in the industry. I am dedicated to ensuring all organisations within the plumbing and heating industry, whether it’s manufacturers, merchants or local authorities, are operating at a consistently high level. AKW’s beliefs are closely aligned to that of the CIPHE, and I personally feel that sharing expertise and experience within the industry is absolutely vital for further growth and improvement.”
