THE Droitwich branch of Hobbycraft is asking customers to help with a national campaign to bring back sewing in schools.

Customers are being asked to sign an online petition to call for all children to be taught the basic sewing and crafting skills in school that they might need in everyday life, by adding the subject to the National Curriculum.

Store manager, Neil Handford, said: “We’re all behind the sewing campaign and hope to see local people in Droitwich try it out for themselves. We know just how important it is to pass on basic skills to the next generation and we’re looking forward to sharing our knowledge, and hopefully getting sewing back into schools.”
