THE Droitwich Spa Forum for Older People recently held a coffee morning at Tea Cups Cafe to raise funds for people affected by the recent local flooding in Worcestershire and beyond.

People enjoyed tea, coffee and scones for two hours and the group managed to raise an impressive £150, which it has donated to the British Red Cross, to help its work in combating the recent floods. Funds also came in through a coach trip and raffle organised by the forum.

The money will be spent on everything from emergency food supplies and blankets, to running 4x4 vehicles through the flood water to affected homes.

Jill Edwards from the forum, said: “The committee wishes to thank all Droitwich residents who again readily responded to our call. We think it was marvellous.”
