COMPANIES from across Worcestershire competed against one another recently in a local bowling competition, where they managed to raise £3,000 for St Richard’s Hospice.
Around 130 people took part in the event at Worcester’s Bowl Xtreme, raising money for the hospice, which cares for people living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Droitwich-based chartered accountants Ballard Dale Syree Watson came out as overall winners of the contest.
Paul Taylor, managing director of one of the companies involved, McCarthy Taylor, said: “We like to support local charities in any way we can and we are delighted to have raised this money for St Richard’s Hospice.
“The event was very well attended and we want to thank everyone who joined us as well as Bowl Xtreme who supplied the venue.”
Rachel Jones from St Richard’s, added: “Money was raised through the raffle, an auction, guess the number of strikes game and also from Sutcliffe & Co and McCarthy Taylor generously donating for each strike that was made. Luckily for the hospice, that was quite a few. A kind donation from Bowl Xtreme topped up the figure to a wonderful £3,000.”
