YOUNG people who would like to take to the water and learn some sailing skills are being invited to take part in a two day course at Upton Warren Outdoor Education Centre.

The course, which is designed for young people aged 14 and over with no previous sailing experience, will get keen sailors out on the water, handling a boat over two days at the centre.

They also receive a handbook about sailing and a logbook to keep a record of their achievements.

The centre is also running a second course for young people with some sailing experience to take their skills to the next level.

Alistair Hodgson, operations manager at Upton Warren, said: "As spring approaches, it’s a chance for people to be out on the water and learning new skills.

"The fact that these courses are RYA accredited is a great boost which may mean that those who take them up may want to develop their skills further in the future."

Both courses last two days at a cost of £145 per person for the level one course and £135 for the level two course.

The courses are running on various dates at the centre from March 15 to November 2 and advanced booking is recommended.
