DETECTIVES investigating a serious sexual assault in Droitwich Spa are appealing for witnesses.

A large group of teenagers met up in Vines Park to socialise at around 4pm on Saturday, February 1. Some were drinking.

The group dispersed at around 7pm, walking along Kidderminster Road and then on to the Westlands estate.

Detective Sergeant Kate Stevens, who is investigating the assault, said: “This offence is very serious and involves young people. However, I would like to reassure residents of Droitwich that such offences are very rare.

“A thorough investigation is taking place and we are now trying to piece together what happened on Saturday evening.

“I would like to appeal for anyone to contact us who may have witnessed or heard anything in Vines Park or Westlands estate during this time that may be of Interest to the Investigation.”
