A WOMAN who died in Hanbury suffered serious stab wounds, police have confirmed.
Detectives from West Mercia Police are continuing investigations at a property in the village.
Paramedics and police officers were called at 4.35pm yesterday to a house in School Road after a report of a woman in her 40s with serious stab wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics, she was declared dead at the scene.
A man in his 20s was arrested nearby shortly after on suspicion of murder and he remains in custody at Worcester Police Station.
Superintendent Mark Travis, police commander for South Worcestershire, said: “Following this tragic incident, we continue our investigations in and around the house in School Road, including searches and forensic examinations.
“I would like to reassure the local community that we believe this to be an isolated incident and no-one else is being sought in relation to our investigation.”
The coroner for Worcestershire has been informed.
