KEEN photographers are being urged to get snapping and enter the annual Webbs calendar competition.

Webbs Garden Centres in Wychbold, near Droitwich, and west Hagley, near Stourbridge, are running the photo competition for the 10th year running after proving such a continuing hit with customers.

Webbs is planning to produce a calendar for 2015 from original photographs. Webbs’ judges are again searching for wonderful photographs of flowers, gardens, garden scenes, flora and fauna.

Fifty pence from every calendar sold will be donated to Greenfingers, the gardening industry charity which helps create magical gardens in children’s hospices.

The competition is open to everyone, amateur or enthusiast of any age. Entry forms are available in-store at Wychbold, West Hagley or to download from webbs.co.uk.

Judging will take place in the middle of June and the 12 winning entries will be featured in the calendar, with each winning photographer credited. The calendar will go on sale in the autumn.

Executive chairman Ed Webb said: “Photography has moved on apace with digital cameras making the taking of great pictures simple for almost everyone, not just a professional. We are surrounded by such beautiful countryside and gardens in Worcestershire that we don’t need to go far to capture some fantastic images.”

The 12 winning entrants will each receive Webbs gift vouchers worth £30 and 12 copies of the calendar to give to friends and family.
