NATIONAL charity the Cinnamon Trust, which was formed to support the elderly and terminally ill and their much loved and needed pets, are looking for volunteers.

The charity is looking for residents from Bromsgrove and Droitwich, who are able to offer short term foster homes to cats and dogs whose owners have sadly died, are in hospital, or in respite or residential care.

The volunteers take on the pets in their own home. The charity particularly needs people who are at home most of the time, who would be best for taking on dogs.

The period the animals can be in foster care can range from a couple of days to a couple of months. During this time, the Cinnamon Trust covers the cost of food and vets bills, and there is 24 hour phone support available.

Anyone able to offer support to the charity, or who would like more information about short term fostering, is asked to call the charity on 01736 757900, email volunteer@cinnamon.org.uk, or download a volunteer registration form from cinnamon.org.uk.

•  Preparations are also already underway for this year's fund-raisers that the trust will be running in the local area.

Annually, in Hanbury, the trust teams up with the Jinney Ring Craft Centre and Animals are Magic.

In recent years generous supporters have raised hundreds for the charity, and organisers hope a similar event taking place this year will also be well supported.
