A DROITWICH couple who met in Bromsgrove in the 1950s have been celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.

Alec and Lillian Keogh were married on December 12, 1953, at All Saints Church in Bromsgrove.

Alec was born in County Cork, Ireland, in 1933 before moving to London, Birmingham and then to Bromsgrove in 1952.

That same year he met Lillian Mole at a dance held at Harris Brush Works, where they both worked.

Lillian was born in Churchfields, Bromsgrove in 1932 and was a pupil at Watt Close School.

Alec worked at Austin's Longbridge factory before retirement, while Lillian worked at Garringtons, before spending 10 years as a nursing assistant at Barnsley Hall Hospital.

The pair now live in Hampton Lovett, Droitwich, and have three children; Lynne, Gary and Michele, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
