THE annual delivery of iced Christmas cakes from the Wychavon branch of the Sugarcraft Guild has been made to St Richard’s Hospice.
The women, who meet in Droitwich Spa, have been busy making and icing 30 cakes which they have donated to be sold, auctioned or raffled to raise funds for the charity.
Tricia Cavell, fundraising director at the hospice, said: “These cakes are a work of art. Lovingly crafted, each one is unique and truly beautiful. They almost look too good to eat.”
Ann Newton, chairman the branch, said: “We really enjoyed creating these cakes for the hospice. Our ladies have come up with a wide variety of designs to suit all tastes. It’s an annual labour of love and we are delighted to see them generating money for a wonderful cause.”
St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supports their families. For more information visit strichards.org.uk
