Housing association offering grant help
11:20am Thursday 24th October 2013 in News
A DROITWICH housing association is offering its tenants a helping hand with a community grant worth up to £700.
Festival Housing is making a pot of money available to help with expenses related to education, employment, training and to support community activities.
“Sometimes a small amount of money can make all the difference,” said Clare Huyton, Festival’s director of housing and communities.
“Perhaps a person needs to smarten up for an interview, go on a course, could accept a job if they could afford to buy a bike or could set up a community group if they had a few hundred pounds to rent a venue and buy some resources. That’s where the ‘Helping Hand’ fund can be the difference and make it happen.”
Tenants can apply for up to £300 or up to £700 if they are in a group. Application forms are available at festivalhousing.org and paper copies are available from Festival’s reception desks in at their offices in Malvern and Droitwich.
Help and further information is available from Lara Latcham, fundraiser and bid writer, LLatcham@festivalhousing.org or on 01684 579362. The deadline for applications is noon on December 16.
