Police cars hit by other vehicles

ARRESTS have been made after police cars were hit by other vehicles during separate persuits near Droitwich Spa and Bromsgrove.
A Vauxhall Vectra failed to stop for officers near junction 5 of the M5 at Droitwich at about 3.30pm yesterday.
It left the motorway at Lydiate Ash near Bromsgrove and turned on to the A491 towards Hagley, where it collided with a Toyota Corolla, near the Bell service station.
Two members of the public were trapped in the Corolla and had to be released by firefighters, but it is not thought they were seriously injured.
A 33-year-old Dudley man was arrested on suspicion of theft and dangerous driving.
The second incident involved a Suzuki Alto which police attempted to stop in Doverdale Lane, Ombersley, at about 10pm on the same day.
Two police cars were rammed by a second vehicle, a Nissan pick-up, which was in convoy with the Suzuki. It is thought the pick-up had been stolen from Worcester.
Two officers sustained minor injuries and both police vehicles were written off.
A 47-year-old man from Wednesbury was arrested on suspicion of theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
The Suzuki made off and was found abandoned in Mustow Green today.
Both arrested men remain in police custody assisting with inquiries.
