New nursery facility opens in Ombersley
2:20pm Monday 30th September 2013 in News
STAFF, pupils and parents celebrated the official opening of Ombersley Endowed First School’s nursery facility.
The opening ceremony was conducted by David Linney of Lloyds Foundation charity and Elizabeth Hooper, chair of governors, on Friday, September 27.
Nursery education is now provided for children aged from two years to school age in the purpose built on-site Tree House Early Years Centre..
Headteacher Caroline Moore said: “We are thrilled the governing body of Ombersley Endowed First School has given us this exciting opportunity to open a school nursery. A pre-school setting offering full time wrap around care has been very much needed here and we have already had a very positive response from parents.”
Staff and parents from Ombersley Endowed First School and Nursery then joined thousands of people across the country for a Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.
The event was held in the school hall and raised more than £167. It gave parents a chance to meet up for cake and coffee as well as look around the new nursery site.
Cakes left over from the coffee morning were later sold from the school gate at the end of the school day.
